In the neck position, the tone swells in space, while in the bridge position, it cuts through it. Either way it's an organic, raucous sound that plays very nicely in overheated amps. The P-90's brightness keeps the tone clear and articulate even with a lot of gain, almost as if you were playing a clean guitar at the same time. The circuitry is faithful to the original, and opens up the palette of sounds by allowing you to nuance the electric edge and darken the tone. But the guitar still whispers, "Play rock."
