Many children are fascinated by the trombone. It has a strong and pleasing tone which can slide smoothly from note to note, and it's visually exciting—-it looks fun! But unlike most other instruments, most trombones cannot be played by small children. Modern trombones were designed for adults, and many would-be beginners just cannot stretch their arms far enough to play all the slide positions.
To meet a growing demand, MTP has launched the 127 Junior model. This is a full-sized trombone, using the traditional slide positions, but it's much shorter in length. With its ascending valve, you can play a full scale without using the two farthest positions! This compact instrument is not only dedicated to children. Its universal ascending concept can be used by adults too. Its dual bore bell delivers refined acoustics matching quality standard horns.
The key to this most innovative concept is the ascending rotary valve. When "open", the trombone is performed in Bb and uses the full air wave length. When the lever is activated, the pitch is raised by one tone. You can therefore play a full scale without using the 6th and 7th positions. Conventional trombones are bulky and difficult for children to handle. The MTP 127 Junior is shorter, lighter, equiponderant and therefore perfectly adapted to young starters.
