Designed for children, the Howarth Junior oboe is a simplified version of the maker’s traditional intermediate semi-automatic model. Howarth has simplified the key mechanism by removing complexity, weight (about 80 grams), risk of damage and simultaneously reduced the cost to build it. All this, whilst keeping standard fingerings to allow for easy progression onto more advanced models.

The body uses the design of a standard Howarth student oboe for a good sound and good intonation, with essential features for a beginner to make best progress. Fully chromatic from low C to top E (over 2 octaves), this oboe features covered finger holes with extensions to ensure proper covering for small hands. An excellent starter that may surprisingly also appeal to more advanced players.
