Founded in the late '70s by the late Bill Collings in Texas, Collings Guitars is the flagship of American manufacturing. While the brand now uses modern manufacturing processes, it makes no compromises: every element is carefully selected, and every detail is given special attention, so much so that the quality of the models produced systematically surpasses that of the most renowned Custom Shops.

Critics will say that we are repeating ourselves, but Collings' production is really very consistent in terms of the craftsmanship and tone. We chose this Collings OM2H AT because it is an exceptional instrument that will delight those of you who are the most demanding, and because it is a beautiful guitar from every angle.

Handcrafted from the highest quality materials - like all Collings - this Collings OM2H AT features an Adirondack spruce top, a wood known for its fine grain and powerful, balanced tone. So you won't be surprised to learn that this guitar has superb, enveloping projection. The select Indian rosewood back and sides offer a warm, deep resonance, while the Macassar ebony fingerboard adds a touch of elegance and durability to the overall package. The Collings OM body shape offers a perfect balance of projection and highly dynamic response, making it an ideal choice for playing styles ranging from fingerpicking to flatpicking. Truth be told, even if you play a lousy song on it, it will sound great.

The finish on this Collings OM2H AT is also outstanding: the hand-applied lacquer highlights the woods and gives it a smooth, shiny look that we found very appealing. The nickel Waverly tuning machines add vintage flair while offering optimal tuning stability, and the rest of the decoration (fingerboard markings, logo, rosette and binding) are up to the task of making this instrument not only high-end, but also very organic.

The very dynamic response in the mids and lows, the richness of the harmonics and the very open projection produce a balanced tone, making this guitar one of those that you choose for life, and that you will never regret having picked up for any occasion: whether you play on stage, in the studio, or in your living room, it is a delight, to the point that this guitar has reconciled us with life, which is sometimes hard.
