Especially known for attracting shredders and metalheads thanks to its ultra-thin necks, floating vibratos and 7, 8 and 9 (!) strings guitars, Ibanez has established itself as THE Japanese export brand. Founded in 1957 in Nagoya, Japan, Ibanez began by producing copies of the american brands such as Fender, Gibson and Rickenbacker, before creating its own. But it was in the 80's that the brand set itself as a staple of the rock and metal landscape, by signing virtuosos such as Joe Satriani or Steve Vai, and established itself as a reference when it comes to superstrats.

This Ibanez QX52 guitar in Black Flat finish is a state-of-the-art tool for guitarists who want to perform the most demanding techniques thanks to its ergonomic design and a high performance pickup/saddle combo. The nyatoh body is light and resonant, with very flat edges, allowing comfortable playing in any position during long sessions. The Parallel Wizard profile of the maple neck imposes no restrictions on movement, and helps you get the hang of it with its consistency. The Jescar EVO gold frets are the highlight: they are particularly durable and are angled to facilitate tapping, slapping, and other acrobatics because they are optimally placed when played this way, which also minimizes fatigue.

The electronics offer a huge palette, with two Q58 pickups and a dyna-MIX10 cricuit for 10 settings to reproduce the tonal and dynamic characteristics of all types of guitars, from a bright, screaming, atmospheric style to a big, humming midrange sound. The Mono Tune bridge allows you to get and keep perfect intonation with minimal maintenance. The look is of course very modern, and this is a guitar that is probably more suited for a metal shredder or a professional in a ballroom band than for a songwriter or a blues fan. But if you want an instrument that takes you beyond the possibilities of a traditional guitar, this Ibanez QX52 is a serious candidate.
