Especially known for attracting shredders and metalheads thanks to its ultra-thin necks, floating vibratos and 7, 8 and 9 (!) strings guitars, Ibanez has established itself as THE Japanese export brand. Founded in 1957 in Nagoya, Japan, Ibanez began by producing copies of the american brands such as Fender, Gibson and Rickenbacker, before creating its own. But it was in the 80's that the brand set itself as a staple of the rock and metal landscape, by signing virtuosos such as Joe Satriani or Steve Vai, and established itself as a reference when it comes to superstrats.
The times when rock and metal guitars were just plain and boring black are fortunately over - noble tops and elaborate finishes are in vogue. The Ibanez RG1120PBZ CIF from the Premium Series features a typical Ibanez basswood body with a heavily grained poplar Burl top, which is magnified by the Caribbean Islet Flat finish. The features are also impressive: Edge Zero II tremolo, Gotoh locking tuners, Jescar frets and official DiMarzio pickups. It takes no prisoners.
