Especially known for attracting shredders and metalheads thanks to its ultra-thin necks, floating vibratos and 7, 8 and 9 (!) strings guitars, Ibanez has established itself as THE Japanese export brand. Founded in 1957 in Nagoya, Japan, Ibanez began by producing copies of the american brands such as Fender, Gibson and Rickenbacker, before creating its own. But it was in the 80's that the brand set itself as a staple of the rock and metal landscape, by signing virtuosos such as Joe Satriani or Steve Vai, and established itself as a reference when it comes to superstrats.
The Ibanez SR400EPBDX is a great bass with the silky feel and playing comfort typical of Ibanez-built instruments. The sound is round and versatile, thanks to the Power Tap circuit. The finish is very nice, and the look of the table is beautiful under the light. This bass is very resonant, and provides a feeling of perfect coherence of the parts and woods. The neck is ideally calibrated for long fatigue-free playing, and the humbuckers deliver modern tones that can be shaped to fit any style.
